Today at the Microsoft Management Summit, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Brad Anderson announced that Windows Serve r 8 will be renamed "Windows Server 2012".

The new Server OS is due out this year. Windows Server 2012 is currently available as a beta product.

So far we don't have an exact date for the RTM.

This week, Microsoft also released Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2012, the newest version of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.

This kit supports the deployment of Windows 7, Office 2010 and 365, and Windows Server 2008 R2. In addition it supplies the deployment of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP.

    Sorry, but Metro on a Windows Server!  This is too much!  I am so glad that there are other operating systems other than Micro$oft Windows.  I am so glad that Micro$oft isn't the only guy in town any more.

    Microsoft is beginning to look a lot like IBM in the bad old days. Upgrade or die, our way or the highway. Server 2012 looks like the perfect answer to the ultimate unasked question. Just what you need but you're not sure what for. Maybe it's a Zen thing.
